Eyebrow Waxing At Home

Eyebrow Waxing at Home

One of the more difficult aspects of waxing for home use is the eyebrows. While legs, arms and bikini area are relatively easy to accomplish at home, eyebrows can be a bit more challenging. The reason for this is that the eyebrows are a very distinguishing feature of the face. It takes some finesse to shape them correctly and make sure they look great. However, with a little practice and knowledge, you can become an expert of eyebrow hair removal at home. If you have the correct tools, know how to shape eyebrows correctly and have confidence with your waxing skills, you can make your eyebrows look stunning.

Waxing eyebrows will look a lot better if you do not have naturally perfect eyebrows. People with naturally gorgeous eyebrows are rare indeed. So, many people will tweeze their eyebrows as the solution. However, in order to maintain the beauty of the brow, tweezing has to be done frequently and it is often time consuming and difficult. With waxing, though, you can wait a longer period of time between applications and the eyebrows will have a more dramatic, cleaner look to them that you can not attain with mere tweezing.

The time between applications is a great benefit to people who wax their eyebrows. Another advantage to using waxing at home as hair removal for the eyebrows is the savings involved. In today’s economy, it is important to save money whenever possible and often beauty is one of the first sacrifices. People tend to stop going to the salon as often in order to save money. With each eyebrow hair removal service costing as much as $20.00 per application, over a year this can get pretty expensive. But, with waxing at home, you can maintain your beauty regimen and save money at the same time. A jar of wax will last a very long time and will take a $20.00 per application charge to just a few cents per application for a significant savings.

Many people choose to go to a salon instead of waxing the eyebrows at home because of the difficulty of shaping the eyebrows perfectly. Many are afraid they will mar the look of the eyebrows and have to live their life with strange looking eyebrows until they grow back. However, if you practice and know what to do to properly shape the brows, you will find your eyebrows are flawless. Hair removal on the brows does not have to be scary.

The first step in learning how to wax eyebrows is to know how to shape them correctly. Take an eyebrow brush or baby toothbrush and smooth the eyebrows into its natural shape. You can then see where you need hair removal and where the shape should be highlighted. Start with the length of the eyebrow by calculating a straight line from the nose to the inside of the eye. This is where the eyebrow should begin; anything beyond that line toward your nose should be removed. Draw an imaginary line from the corner of your nose to the outer corner of your eye. Where that line intersects your eyebrow is where you should end the line of your brow and hair removal should occur outside that area.

The next step is to find where your eyebrow should arch. Start with the same line on your nose and move it to the outer edge of the iris. This is where your brow should be arched. Now all you have to do before waxing is use the points for beginning, end and arch to shape the brows.

You should be aware of the technique to use in order to wax the brows. It is similar to any other hair removal on the body but on a smaller scale. First, treat the area with an astringent such as witch hazel. Then, apply the hair removal wax to all areas outside the lines you created. You should be able to see how your eyebrows will look once the strip is removed. If you are satisfied, press the hair removal strip into place, hold the skin taut with one hand and remove the strip with the other.

The process may take a little time to master but once you have it down it will be easy. It will also come more naturally to you in time. Waxing eyebrows at home is a great money saving solution and can be easy to do with a little knowledge.
