The History Of Estee Lauder Beauty Products

This company started with only four products – skin lotion, crème pack, cleansing oil and super rich all purpose cream – in the year 1946 by a couple named Estee and Joseph Lauder. The venture proved very successful basically because it delivered what it promised and very soon the money started rolling in. Just two years later the Estee Lauder beauty products were being sold from the Saks Fifth Avenue department store in New York.

The company continued growing with each year and in 1960 the Estee Lauder beauty products went international with the famous departments store in London – Harrods; in 1961, there was another international branch inaugurated – this time in Hong Kong.

In 1967 Estee Lauder, the power-force behind the massive drive of this company, had made it to the list of the Ten Most Outstanding Women in Business, which was then a decision taken by a group of business and financial editors.

By 1968 two more companies had been launched under the auspices of Estee Lauder beauty products, i.e. Aramis Inc., which concentrated on men and their skin care, and Clinique Laboratories Inc., which brought out the first-ever type of  dermatologist approved and guided Estee Lauder beauty products. These products became famous for two things – (i) the extraordinary quality that this company had always offered its customers and (ii) it was the first ever fragrance free line of products.

Again, this is the first ever company that started as a women oriented beauty care company and diversified into men's skin care products at a later date. The company that looked after the skin care products for men was baptized as Lab Series and launched in 1976.

The Estee Lauder Products Today

Presently this company is still identified as one of the leading beauty care products' manufacturers in the world with more than 20 thousand employees,  a number of retails outlets that span the globe and a sales report that has long since crossed the US $5 million level.  Some of the famous faces associated with Estee Lauder beauty products are, Elizabeth Hurley, Paulina Prorizkova, Gwyneth Paltrow and Willow Bay, among others.
